Thomas J. Dodd was born Aug. 4, 1837, in Harper's Ferry, Va., and died Feb. 9, 1899. He joined the Kentucky Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, in 1860. He was a professor in the Vanderbilt University Biblical Dept. (later the School of Religion, now the Divinity School) from 1877 to 1885.
